Lesson Pricing and Policy
Tuition
Lessons are offered as a reserved weekly time and billed as consistent monthly tuition. Monthly tuition reflects an average of lessons across the year and remains the same regardless of the number of lessons in a given month. This provides consistency for both families and teacher scheduling.
Lesson Length
The standard lesson length is 45 minutes for piano students ages 8 and up and voice students ages 11 and up. This gives us enough time to work on multiple musical goals while also making room for creativity, exploration, and activities tailored to each student’s interests and learning style. The additional time allows students to be challenged musically while building a broader foundation of skills and understanding.
30-minute lessons are available when a shorter format is a better fit for a student’s age, attention span, or individual needs. 60-minute lessons are available for students studying multiple instruments or working at a more advanced level.
Monthly Tuition Rates
• 45-minute lesson: $170/ month
• 30-minute lesson: $120/ month
• 60-minute lesson: $220/ month
Monthly tuition is due at the beginning of each month to reserve your student’s lesson time. A $15 late fee may be applied if payment is not received within 7 days. The following payment methods are accepted: check, ApplePay, PayPal, and cash.
EnrollmentA non-refundable $30 enrollment fee is required for all new students. This secures your student’s place in the studio and covers administrative time, scheduling, and preparation.
Students who take a break from lessons and later return will re-enroll based on availability and current enrollment terms.
Scheduling
Weekly lesson times are reserved for actively enrolled students. Students who continue lessons through the summer maintain their placement for the fall schedule without needing to re-enroll.
Students who pause lessons are always welcome to return, with scheduling based on availability and current enrollment.
Attendance & Lesson Expectations
Consistent attendance and regular practice at home are essential for steady progress and a positive learning experience.
Each student is assigned a consistent weekly lesson time, which is reserved exclusively for them.
If a student is feeling unwell, please keep them home. A virtual lesson may be requested if the student is well enough to participate. In the event of severe weather, lessons may be moved online or adjusted as needed.
- Make-Up Lessons & Absences
- If a lesson needs to be missed, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when possible. Make-up lessons are limited, scheduled based on availability, and are considered a courtesy rather than a guarantee. Missed lessons without notice (“no-shows”) are forfeited and are not eligible for a make-up lesson.
- If I need to cancel a regular lesson, I will make every reasonable effort to provide a make-up lesson. If I am unable to offer a make-up within the available schedule, the missed lesson will be credited toward a future month’s tuition.
- If a scheduled make-up lesson is canceled by the family, it will be forfeited. If a make-up lesson must be canceled by the instructor, an alternate time will be offered.
- If a student’s schedule changes mid-semester, I will do my best to find an alternate time. Availability is limited, and scheduling may take up to 1–2 weeks.
- Trial Lessons New students may schedule a single trial lesson prior to enrollment. Trial lessons are offered at the regular lesson rate. If you choose to continue, this lesson will count as your first enrolled lesson.
- Holidays and Studio Breaks The studio observes a limited number of scheduled breaks throughout the year, including: • One week for Thanksgiving • Two weeks for Winter Break • One week for Spring Break
- The studio is also closed for select holidays, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Lessons continue as usual on most other holidays. Monthly tuition remains consistent regardless of the number of lessons in a given month. Summer Lessons Summer lessons are offered as a 6-lesson package with flexible scheduling throughout June and July.
- Families are welcome to schedule lessons weekly or spread them throughout the summer. Lessons may also be grouped into short, focused bursts—such as 2–3 lessons per week—for a “mini-camp” experience. Possible themes include songwriting, music theory and note reading, or performance-focused lessons.
- Summer Tuition Rates: • 30-minute lessons: $180 • 45-minute lessons: $255 • 60-minute lessons: $330
- Summer tuition may be split into multiple payments, with the full balance due by June 15 to reserve your student’s place in the summer schedule.
- Students who participate in summer lessons will maintain their enrollment and will not need to re-enroll for the fall.
- Students who choose to pause lessons for the summer are always welcome to return, with scheduling based on availability.
